Our recipe for lemon-ginger detox tea

This is a wonderful immune-boosting tea. It is loaded with Vitamin C and is rich in antioxidants to help boost your immune system. Drink it anytime, especially during cold and flu season. Packed with many health benefits, this drink is anti-inflammatory and also helps to cleanse your lymphatic system. How to make lemon ginger tea for the immune system:

Ingredient List:

Just 6 ingredients to make this yummy tea:

  • Ripe organic lemons (6-8 depending on size).

  • Fresh ginger root (1 medium piece).

  • Ground turmeric (1 TSP) or to taste.

  • Honey, maple syrup, or liquid Stevia (to taste).

  • Cayenne pepper (optional) just a pinch.

  • Purified water (8 cups of filtered water).

How to make lemon ginger detox tea:

Healthy detox teas are easy to make with just a handful of fresh ingredients.  I like to make up the batch of tea, let it cool, and then pour it into a large pitcher for drinking throughout the day. You can drink the detox tea at room temperature, gently reheat it or drink it chilled.  Here’s how to make it:

  1. Slice the lemons and ginger.

  2. Bring the water to a boil in a large pot.

  3. Turn the heat off, then add the lemon slices, ginger, turmeric, and pepper.

  4. Let the mixture steep for 30 minutes.

  5. Strain and drink at room temperature, chilled or gently reheat (no boiling).

Enjoy your detox tea!

More easy detox drinks

Making detox drinks at home is a healthy habit to form as part of a regular nutrition boost regimen. Detox and cleansing drinks usually include water, fruit, vegetables, and herbs. These all help stimulate our body’s natural detox process and help our body get rid of some nasty toxins and waste from our systems. The ingredients in this tea have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits, which are extremely beneficial to our immune system and help alkalize our system.

Easy Lemon-Detox Water (Lemonade with cayenne)

Here is an easy variation of the lemon tea so you can enjoy it as lemonade in the summer! Drink it ice cold during the hot summer months to cool off while you also do a little detoxing at the same time! I enjoy having this cold drink after a brisk walk.

  • Ripe organic lemons (6-8 depending on size)

  • Honey, Maple Syrup, or Liquid Stevia (to taste)

  • Cayenne pepper (optional) just a pinch

  • Purified water (8 cups filtered water)

Squeeze the lemons (should yield 1 cup to 1.5 cups of fresh lemon juice). Strain the lemon juice into a pitcher (to catch seeds and pulp). Add 8-10 cups of filtered water to taste (or depending on how much juice yielded from the lemons). Add sweetener of choice to taste. I like to add 8-10 squirts of Stevia liquid. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Stir. Chill. Enjoy!

Play around with these recipes by adding additional fresh herbs like mint, basil, thyme, lavender or rosemary, for extra flavor.
